Streamlined Science TEKS
The State Board of Education (SBOE) gave final approval on April 21, 2017, to the streamlined science TEKS for K-8 science and four high school science courses. The streamlined TEKS will be implemented in classrooms beginning with the 2018-2019 school year. You can access the revised TEKS here.

Public comments regarding the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) consolidated state plan for Texas are now being accepted by the Texas Education Agency (TEA). Award Nominations Open - TSELA Outstanding Leadership in Science Education - Due by October 15
This prestigious award recognizes and honors a TSELA member, who through their professional work, has demonstrated outstanding leadership in science education at the school, district, county, regional, and/or state level.
The award is presented at the TSELA meeting at CAST (Houston). The award is accompanied by a check for $750 and a plaque donated by Delta Education/FOSS/Frey/CPO.
